Credit help?

okay, I used to be in debt with some credit card companies, but all of them are paid and I%26#039;ve been debt free for about two years now. I%26#039;m trying to rebuild my credit, but no one will give me a credit card. I%26#039;m in no need for a house or new car, so I%26#039;m not goin those routes. I have student loans that I%26#039;m abou tot have to start paying back....will this help my credit? (I know that paying them back will, duh, and I intent to do so...but will just having a loan that I%26#039;m paying on look good?) Also, I attempted to get a credit card and was turned down for these reasons:

-DELINQUENCY ADVERSE PUBLIC RECORD OR COLLECTION

-LACK OF REVOLVING ACCOUNT INFORMATION

-TOO FEW ACCOUNTS CURRENTLY PAID AS AGREED

My credit report says that the delinquencies could be on my record for up to four more years...is there any way to speed that process up?? I mean, I realized I screwed up in the past, and while I%26#039;m not looking to purchase a new car or house now, I want to be able to eventually.

Being in the same situation as you, I have been told to steer clear of credit cards altogether. It looks like they think you%26#039;ve paid too many things late. Revolving accounts, Ex. payday loans, credit cards, department store cards, etc, are very bad for your credit. They money that you waste on interest could just be going straight to pay off your student loans! I have been told that once something is bad on your credit, it%26#039;s bad. Nothing will make it look better, except time. I, for ex., have about 3 revolving accounts. I was told that if I were to completely pay those off, it would bring up my score 20-25 points per account. that probably means that paying off at least one would better that percentage there. Msn.com is very helpful. Search debt or credit help and you can find a debt evaluater, articles on how to save money and so much more. Also, Dave Ramsey has written an amazing book called %26quot;Financial Peace%26quot; that I got when my husband and I got married and it has helped a lot. Time heals most bad credit on your report. It will stay on your credit report for about 8 years. If you paid it off in four, then you have four more to go. Pay off your student loans in four years and you%26#039;ll be in good shape.
