Have you paid off the gifts you bought last christmas on your credit card?

Let%26#039;s face it....gift giving can get out of hand during this time of the year. So, majority of the population charge their impressive gifts last year. Have you paid off that debt yet so you can spend it again this year?

Have you paid off the gifts you bought last christmas on your credit card?

Yes.. they were paid off by February. I only use my retail credit cards for Christmas, then pay them off in about 2 months. It%26#039;s totally foolish to spend all kinds of money on credit cards because then you end up paying twice as much for the gifts due to interest! This year, I only spent $100 on credit.. I am proud of myself!! Best Wishes!

Why do people love to spend what they don%26#039;t have... Come on people.. We will all understand if you get us a cheap lil gift or nothing at all.. we know you are broke!

You need to be able to pay off by June....Don%26#039;t overspend so much.

Most of it was paid off, the rest was consolidated into a home equity loan when we decided to redo the exterior of the house. So I guess I am still paying on some of it.

Last year we paid for everything with cash. Nothing went on our credit card. This year, we had to use our credit card. We are hoping my husband gets a bonus and we will pay off what we used. Every year, we try to stay within our means. Now it%26#039;s getting harder. We still have hope. But we were really cautious this year and spent way less than we usually do.

unfortunately no. And I had to go and charge again this year with the same card. Bah Humbug!

If you haven%26#039;t, your budget this year should consist of $15 for Christmas cards and a handful of stamps.

I have no credit cards. I only buy what I can afford each year.

Yep, they were paid off by the end of January. We try to use cash as much as possible!

I just had this conversation with my girlfriend the other day.

Growing up in Germany, I learned that you don%26#039;t buy what you cannot afford.

The only thing I will take a loan for is my house - that%26#039;s it!

I own two credit cards that I use to make internet purchases, but they get paid off in full at the end of every month.

If I cannot afford it - I don%26#039;t buy it.

This year, I don%26#039;t have a lot of money to spend, so I make it spread. I%26#039;m getting big gifts for two people and small things for everybody else. I try to give gifts that impress by the thought put into them instead of the money I blow on them.

My girlfriend told me she wanted to get Ipods as STOCKING STUFFERS for her mom and girlfriend. Yet she%26#039;s got problems paying her running cards off as is.

Needless to say I talked her out of it ;)

All these stupid commercials out there saying that %26quot;Everything you need for presents is right here%26quot; and advertising an electronics store.... it%26#039;s no wonder so many people put themselves in debt for Christmas presents.

Give self-made things, gifts found on flea markets, on ebay, craigslist...

And start putting money aside for the Christmas season so you don%26#039;t have to put yourself in debt.

It makes for a much more peaceful holiday.
